Lord Edmund of Wastonburgh

You may not know this, but he was probably the first inventor of the Segway. 
Not did he call it a Segway but an electrified standing wheelchair. 
In his old days he couldn’t walk far anymore and being as stubborn as a mule he wouldn’t accept help from others. 
Sitting in a wheelchair being pushed around by others was not acceptable for him. 
With electricity known to mankind for a decade he invented a vehicle that he could steer himself to anywhere he wanted.
